This shovel is one of a set of three handmade fireirons. It has possibly made of brass, with a decorative cut out design on the back of the shovel. They originally belonged to the donor’s great-grandfather, a blacksmith from the village of Albrighton, near Wolverhampton, and hung in his cottage as ornaments.
