Description
This is shearing machine with shearing head. The shearing machine is hand-powered and is mounted on a tripod stand. It is made from metal and has a wooden end to the handle. It also has an inscription: 'MANUFACTURED BY THE COOPER-STEWART ENGINEERING CO. LTD. LETCHWORTH. HERTS. No. 14'. The machine was used by the donor on his smallholding, on which he kept eighty sheep.

Archival history
MERL miscellaneous note – This machine was manufactured by Cooper-Stewart Engineering Co. Ltd. The donor, Mr Standage, bought this machine from South Heath Farm, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire. He used it on his 80-sheep smallholding but gave it to the Museum when he decided to move to Shropshire to get away from people. [Georgia Charitou, 15 October 2014]
