Description
These are 'Hobbleboots' which are waterproof, rubber covered textile boots in black and red with two D-ring buckle straps. The boots are part of a kit and would be used with special elasticated tubular bandages. Instructions would also be included but these were not sent with the boots. There is also an inscription on the boots; 'HOBBLE BOOT// MADE IN BRITAIN// GATES'. The boots came to MERL via the Victoria and Albert Museum.

MERL miscellaneous note –Georgia Charitou-14 October 2014- The makers of famous green Hunter wellingtons have developed a unique aid for the treatment of lame cows. The Hobbleboot has been hand made to snugly fit a cow's hoof. Application of the Hobbleboot is simple. No special training is required and it causes no discomfort to the cow.
