Description
This angler’s basket, or 'creel', was used by the donor’s grandfather to hold his catch when freshwater fishing at Blagdon Lake, Somerset, 1900–1918. It is a pouch-shaped basket, made of skeined and turned white willow, and was probably made in France. The lid has an oblong hole through which the fish could be put into the basket.
