Description
This wooden marking gauge was made and used by Mr F. W. Privett, a joiner and woodcarver. It has a lance wood arm, carved mahogany bridge and an ebony wedge. A marking gauge is used by craftsmen to mark parallel lines spaced from a fixed margin, usually the face side or edge of the workpiece.
