Description
This mash stirrer is part of a complete collection of malthouse equipment (used for making beer) owned by the donor's father. The brewhouse was situated on a farm at Great Cornard, Suffolk, and was used for home brewing only. Beer was made there for the last time in 1932. The stirrer is made of wood, and is very strongly made and blackened with use. Six spars pass through the handle and with a crossbar at the top form 12 spaces.
