Description
This is a Market Garden tractor with model number MG6. It was manufactured by Ransomes, Sims & Jefferies of Ipswich some time after 1953. It is a crawler tractor, powered by a single cylinder 600cc, 7bhp petrol engine. The tractor was originally painted blue but was repainted green during its working life. It is equipped with a model C29 6-tined cultivating attachment mounted on the tool bar frame. It was used from new on the four acre market garden at Townlands Hospital, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, which was a former workhouse. It was last used circa 1975 when the market garden was grassed over.
