Description
This is a pulsator, a piece of metal apparatus that fits onto a milking bucket. This Vaccar pulsator is for a double milking machine. This type of pulsator was manufactured circa 1930s and improved upon during and after the Second World War. Thousands were made of this type. It is inscribed with 'FFDC 596'. It was donated to MERL by Mr. Harold W. Burry via Mr. R. H. Burton. Mr. Burry managed the Vaccar Ltd office and works at Christchurch, Hampshire, from 1928 until circa 1948. Vaccar Ltd is a developer of milking machines. Mr. Burton also worked for Vaccar Ltd.
