Description
A whippletree, sometimes also called an 'equalizer' or 'leader bar', is a tool used to distribute a pulling force evenly. Wippletrees are used for draught animals, to ensure that multiple animals take an equal share of the load (or to balance the load pulled by animals of different strength). This example was made for Albion Horse Mover and was manufactured by Harrison McGregor and Co Ltd., Leigh, Lancashire.
