This is a photograph of prize horse Field Marshall V. This horse was the property of and bred by His Majesty The King. Foaled in 1917, he was the winner of the champion Prize at the Shire Horse Society’s Show, 1920. (Islington). Mr Curtis was a groom at the stud of the late James Forshaw of Carlton-on-Trent. Mr Forshaw was one of the three judges at the 1920 show and King George V gave him this photograph.
