Beschreibung
These three handmade bricks came from the Manor House at Earley, Reading. They are from a pavement, discovered in July 1958, below the main floor level of the house. The bricks are believed to date from the late-eighteenth century.

‘Bricks and Tiles’ document in accession file – ‘Site: The Manor House, Earley, Reading. // No. of Bricks or Tiles: 3 // Date Removed From Site: 17.7.58. // Approximate Date: Late 18th century. // The bricks are from a pavement discovered in July, 1958, about 2’.6” below the main floor level of the house. It may have been that of the late 18th century farmhouse larder, as late 18th century broken china and glass bottles were found under the floor.
