Beschreibung
This is a one gill measure (quarter of a pint) for domestic use. It is made of pewter and is shaped like a cup, with a handle. It has the Royal stamp of verification from Queen Victoria's reign, dating it to between 1837 and 1901.

MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'Nothing is known of the origin of this measure. It is made of pewter and as probably for household use. It is shaped like a small cup, with a handle, and a base wider than the top. It is decoratively shaped and has turned lines round it.
