This is a baker’s delivery basket for delivering bread by hand. It is a fine-randed oval basket with straight sides and a roped cross handle. It is made of white willow, with some cane on the handle. It was given to the Museum by a baker from Sonning Common, Oxfordshire, on his retirement in 1966 – he had a delivery round. His baskets were supplied by United Yeast Co., a supplier of bakers’ sundries.
