Beschreibung
This is a soldering iron, made of iron, with a hooked handle and heavy oval head. It is known as a ‘plumber’s iron’ or ‘grozing iron’ and was used for jointing lead sheet and pipes. After heating it was held against the joint to keep the solder fluid while being wiped smooth. It is the ancestor of the blow lamp.
