This miner's lamp originally came from Mapperley Colliery near Ilkeston, Nottinghamshire. It dates from the nineteenth century, and was made by Ackroyd & Best Ltd., of Morley.

No. 6 and no 21 are the artistic gems of the collection, though not necessarily the most interesting. // References to Falk are to a Falk, Stadelmann catelogue I was fortunate to acquire which is virtually a catalogue raisonne of lamps for domestic and non-industrial use.
