This is a truss pin. Trusses are frameworks of rafters and struts used to support structures such as roofs and bridges. Truss pins such as this are used for holding the rafters in place. The origin of this truss pin is not known, although it arrived at the museum with another truss pin from an old barn in Enstone, Oxfordshire.
