This printing block was used by the engineering company John Gordon & Co. John Gordon & Co manufactured coffee machinery, including coffee peelers and pulpers. This wooden pattern, for p.S22 of the February 1913 issue, shows the 'Double Chain Elevator'. It dates from the early twentieth century.
