Beschreibung
Two brass horn knobs with the tips of the cow's horns still in them. Horn knobs are drilled and tapped pieces of brass applied to the tips of the cow's horns to keep them blunt and to give a distinctive look. These knobs belonged to the donor's father, who was of 'yeoman stock' from the Bovingdon area of Hertfordshire.

MERL ‘Handwritten catalogue’ form – ‘These brass horn knobs still have the tips of the cows horn in them. They were screw onto the horn and the screw is still present. // Diameter: 3.0cm. Height 2.5cm. // It has been suggested that special pliers with a pair of teeth were used in the fitting of the knobs.’
