- BeschreibungOxshoes are nailed or glued to the ox's hooves to protect the hooves from wear and tear. Each hoof was fitted with two half-shoes, as an ox's hoof is cloven. These three half-oxshoes belonged to the donor's father, who was of 'yeoman stock' from the Bovingdon area of Hertfordshire.
