This pewter pot was probably used for sugar, and probably forms part of a tea set. It has four legs, and decorated handles, lid, sides and bottom. It was made by Reed and Barton of Taunton, Massachusetts, and bears the number 1766.

MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'This is a pewter pot, probably used for sugar. It is large, with handles on each side, and a lid, with a very elaborate knob on the top. The handles, lid, sides and bottom are all decorated and the pot stands on four feet, very similar to those on 51/567L. It was made by Reed and Barton and bears the number 1766. It is 7 inches in height. It was probably part of a tea set, of which 51/675L was another part.', No Lavinia Smith No. recorded.
