This large glass bottle, with a cork stopper, contains a veterinary medical preparation called 'Viridolin', for general use in healing wounds on any animal. It was also known, according to the bottle label, as 'Stephen Pettifer & Sons' Green Oils'.

MERL Miscellaneous Note, 20 February 2020 - During a visit to examine the bottle, Carol Craddock explained that her great grandfather Edward Collins worked for the Pettifer family business. Stephen Pettifer ran a veterinary practice in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. He was married to Mercy Pettifer (née Collins). Edward Collins was a cousin of Mercy Collins. His family business made and marketed a number of animal health products including this drench and Santovin. The former practice building is now home to Mayfield House Hotel.
