Beskrivelse
These four jesses are for a peregrine 'tercel', a male falcon. A jess is a short strap of leather used for tethering the bird – one end is attached to the bird and the other to a leash, which is taken off for flying. These jesses have a swivel, which prevents the leash getting tangled when the bird is active but not hunting. The earliest accounts of falconry, the art of hunting prey using trained birds, date back to 2000 BC.
