Shepherds use bells to help them locate their sheep. This is a clucket type sheep bell with a single loop at the top, and dates from circa 1820. It was worn by sheep in the Burnham Hampshire Down flock ofthe Burnham Estate in Buckinghamshire. It was brought to the flock in 1934 by Harvey Wadman and was used until 1944 when it was given to the donor on the sale of the flock. The donor was an Agent to Edward Clifton-Brown of the Burnham Estate.
