This is a spade iron. It was designed to be strapped to the sole of a boot when digging. It previously had a strap to hold it to the boot, but this is now missing. It was used in Enstone, Oxfordshire.

The strap by which it was held to the boot is missing, and its origins are unknown, although it was used in the Enstone district.'
