A Ministry of Food ration book, dated 1950-1951. The donor used the book in Bristol where she was living at the time. The cover features the owners' name, address at the time, national registration number, the Food Office code number, and the serial number of the ration book. Inside the book can be found rations for food, clothes, personal points (sweets), tea and soap. The donor was registered as a vegetarian at the time, so was provided extra allowances of cheese instead of meat. Care Note: Booklet contains several loose coupons and sections, ensure completeness is retained.

This ration book was owned by vegetarian Barbara Wood, who was given extra coupons to buy cheese instead of meat. The limited resources during the Second World War meant that people were careful to use up as much food as possibe to avoid throwing it away.</P><P>2019/55</P></SPAN></SPAN></P></DIV>
