Beskrivelse
This is an embossing machine, for marking paper with a raised design. It is a made of iron with a brass plated stamp which reads 'National Dairymen's Benevolent Institution Incorporated', and is painted black with gold decoration of flowers and foliage. The machine has a metal security bolt, the key and padlock of which are now missing. The National Dairymen's Benevolent Institution (NDBI) provided financial assistance to retired dairymen.

The NDBI provided financial assistance to individuals who worked in the diary trade (for a continuous period of seven years or more) and who had been required to retire due to age or ill health.
