Beskrivelse
A mill bill is a hammer-like hand tool consisting of a 'bill' or 'bit' (steel wedge) and a 'thrift' (wooden handle). It is used for dressing millstones by the process of 'cracking' so that the correct grinding action is achieved between the upper stone, or 'runner', and the lower 'bed-stone'. This mill bill is part of the Sharp Collection.
Arkivhistorik
The Sharp Collection of agricultural and dairying equipment was compiled by Reverend C. J. Sharp at Wonersh, Surrey. Reverend Sharp died in 1967 and the Museum acquired the Collection for £60 in 1968.
