This umbrella basket was made for the Museum in 1965–1966 by William Shelley of Salisbury, Wiltshire. It is a long, narrow, funnel-shaped basket made of buff willow with leather straps and metal buckles. These types of baskets were designed to be strapped to a horse-drawn trap or carriage, or to a pram, to carry umbrellas.
