Nothing is known of this oven rake. It consisted of an iron scoop and a long wooden handle, which is now missing, and was used to clear out the hot embers from a brick oven.

MERL 'Catalogue index' card – 'This is a rake for clearing the hot embers out of a brick oven. Nothing is known of its origin. // It consisted of an iron scoop, set on a long wooden handle. The wooden handle is now missing. The scoop has a socket at the top, narrowing to a thin, round handle, which bends backwards at the bottom and then forwards at right angles to the handle. The scoop is 2.25 inches wide and 13.5 inches long.
