الوصف المادي
1 riding crop: leather, brass, ivory
Riding crop, 1940s. This riding crop is of a fairly common design and features a handle made of antler. Both pre-war and during the Second World War, items like this were a necessary accessory for farmers, most of whom used horses to move around their land and to check their stock. Horse-based practices became steadily less common as mechanised farming took over. This particular example actually belonged to the donor's daughter who used it throughout the 1940s. MERL 58/51.
