الوصف
This Cornish wagon, also known as a 'body' or 'chest' wagon, was used in Linkinhome, Cornwall, for hauling lime and turf. It was made by Aaron Vosper, of the adjoining parish of North Hill. It has 'ladders', enabling it to hold a greater load, as well as 'tumblers' with ropes attached, probably enabling the load to be tied down more securely.

Letter, P.H. Henwood to Mr Jewell, 18th November 1962 - 'The wagon left here on the date arranged and I am glad it reached you safely. // You may be interested to know that: // 1/ It was compulsory to have the owner's name + address on it (for the same reason that we have car no. plates) // 2/ It was made by Aaron Vosper of the adjoining parish of North Hill - he was a carpenter, wheelwright, coach builder, etc. // 3/ The maker's name is painted on the back (tail-board) of the wagon. // 4/ It was inspected before painted. My grandfather in common with other shrewd farmers of that day - and this - knew that paint would easily hide a 'knotty' bit of wood - every piece had to be good for this job. // 5/ We always called this the "box" or "chest" wagon, as opposed to the "no-sided" wain wagons. // 6/ The 'tumbles' or 'tumblers', with ropes attached, were placed in the [?] below the tail-board....
