الوصف
This doll was given to the donor by an elderly friend of her mother, Christmas 1914. It is dressed as a real baby would have been at that time, with: flannel undergarment, flannel pants, short undergarment, long undergarment, plain cotton petticoat, dress with lace at hem and broderie anglaise bodice and sleeves, bib, cape, bonnet, and spare dress. The cape and bonnet were originally worn by the elderly lady's own children, and have been pleated to fit the doll. They date from c.1882.

It is dressed exactly as a real baby would have been at that period. The bonnet and carrying cape however are much older than the rest of the clothes having been worn by Mrs Boscott's own children who were contemporary with my mother. Therefore the estimated age of these two articles would be about 80 years. // As you can see, the bonnet and cape have been pleated to fit the doll. This can be undone if you wish. Only the ribbon on these two items is new, everything else is just as I received it all those years ago.'
