الوصف
These five willow rods are of the variety salix triandra or ‘black maul’. They were grown by Tom Ellison, a basketmaker in Evesham, Worcestershire, who used them for making willow rattles and grew the willow by his shop. This variety makes up 75% of the output of Somerset. It usually grows 5–7 feet in length, but the soil and situation may have produced these short rods.
