One of twelve moulding planes, used for creating profiles in wood, from the workshop of Froude [?] in Checkendon, Oxfordshire. It has a beech stock with a boxwood insert. It is marked 'John Moseley & Son // 34-35 Broad St Bloomsbury // London' (the name of the manufacturer), 'W. Taylor' (possibly the name of a previous owner of the plane - seven of the twelve planes are marked with this name), and 'J. Bartlett' (possibly another previous owner).
