Returning items
To return items simply pop them in the Book Sorter on the Ground Floor of the Library. You will receive email confirmation that your items have been successfully returned.
When the Library is closed return items using the external Book Drop to the right of the main entrance. Please note: items returned in the Book Drop remain your responsibility until they are discharged from your account.
Returning Oversized items
Return items which are too big for the Book Sorter at the Welcome Desk on the Ground Floor. Please return these items using the external Book Drop outside staffed hours.
Returning items without Library barcodes
Return these items at the Welcome Desk on the Ground Floor. Outside staffed hours put them in the external Book Drop.
Returning items at London Road
Standard and semester loan items can be returned in the Book Drop in the foyer of the Resources Building (L24). The foyer is open on weekdays from 7:30 - 21:00. Recalled items must not be placed in the Book Drop but returned to the Library on the Whiteknights Campus.
We will count your loans returned from the day you place them in the London Road Book Drop. However, transport time may mean you don't see them discharged from your account for up to 48 hours. If you know you have returned items, please ignore automatic overdue emails sent during this period.
Postal returns
Please return your loans personally to the Library if possible. However items can be returned to the Library by post when necessary. Pack the parcel well and send by a tracked delivery method to minimise the risk of loss or damage. Charges may result if the returned item is late, lost or damaged. We shall remove the items from your account as soon as they arrive.
