A Palaeoenvironmental Investigation of Four Valley Bogs at Hothfield Common, Kent

Hothfield Common is home to the last four valley bogs in Kent. Very little is known about the history of these features and this project is designed to provide us with a greater understanding of these sites from a historical perspective using GIS alongside palaeoecological and archaeological techniques.

A Public Health and Climate Change “Countdown” for Reading Town

The Lancet Countdown tracks the links between health and climate change at a global scale. We are working with Reading Climate Action Network to design and track indicators for the first town level “Countdown”. Candidate indicators include air pollution exposure, public and active transport, climate-linked hospital admissions, and power decarbonisation.

Worms can be used as a model for social behaviours to understand if these behaviours are linked to healthy aging. We are interested in the effects of a functionally conserved neuropeptide and its receptor on social behaviours and on longevity.

Audit of immunotherapy toxicity and resulting costs of treatment at Oxford Cancer and Haematology Centre

Immunotherapy treatments used for an increasing number of cancer indications in England, however patients can experience immunotherapy induced toxicities, which need to be treated early and in accordance with the local protocol. This project aims to evaluate the incidence, treatment of and costs of managing immunotherapy toxicity.

Audit of non-medical prescribing activity at Oxford Cancer and Haematology Centre

Non-medical prescribers (NMP) have taken on roles that were traditionally undertaken by medical staff. This project aims to audit non-medical prescribing activity across NMP professions in the oncology and haematology directorate in the Oxford Cancer Centre.
